PTE Results 2018- How To Access Your Scores NOW

January 9, 2018 By Steven 22 Comments

  • Have you taken the PTE Academic recently and are awaiting your results?
  • Do you want to know when it will be out?
  • Or is it past due date and you want to know what’s happening? Don’t worry we’ve got you covered. If any of the above is you, this guide will help you out.

When can I expect my PTE Academic results?

Results for the PTE Academic are usually available within 5 business days from your test date. Most test-takers report receiving the results within 3 days(I got mine the next day!). In a small number of cases, it may take more than 5 days.

PTE results 5 days

It’s been more than 5 days? What should I do?

Keep calm and don’t panic. Here’s what to do.

When the results are ready, you receive an email from Pearson. So the first thing you can do is check your spam and junk folder, to see if it’s already there. Search for ‘Pearson’ or ‘PTE Academic’.

If for any reason the result is delayed, Pearson may contact you directly.

We have seen results taking more than 5 business days on rare occasions. The reasons for such delays are not disclosed. You will usually receive an email like the below.

“Dear Test Taker,

As you know, PTE Academic scores are usually available within five business days. Sometimes scores are returned more quickly and, in a small number of cases, they may take longer to be returned.

Unfortunately, your score is not yet available. We understand how important your score is and we aim to get it to you as soon as possible. You will receive an additional email when your score report is available. Once you receive this email, you will be able to access your scores
through your web account.

Thank you for your patience.”

There’s not much you can do if you are in the situation except getting better at being patient 🙂

The maximum I have seen someone wait was 3 weeks. On the bright side, she got the score she wanted and was happy in the end!

There are rare instances where the result may be placed on hold. As per Pearson, this could be due to irregularities in your test. What these ‘irregularities’ are no one knows. Maybe someone spilt coffee on the servers after the test, maybe there is a technical issue and Pearson need to manually check to see if everything is alright.

It’s been more than 5 business days and I haven’t received a notification from Pearson. How do I contact PTE support?

Different regions will have different email address and phone numbers to contact Pearson.

You check for your regions Pearson contact details via the following link: https://pearsonpte.com/contact-us/

You can also drop them a message on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/pteacademic/

How to access your result?

PTE test results are electronically issued. You can access your result via an online account.

You will receive an email from Pearson once your results are out, below is an example:

Once you receive the following mail you can check your results by logging in on to www.pearsonvue.com/pte with your username and password.

In the official Pearson website, click on My Account there you will see “View score Report”, you will be able to access your result.

Keep your fingers crossed and click on “View”

What will my PTE result view like?

Below is a snapshot of the PDF file you will receive.

I’m not happy with the result. Should I request a rescore for my test?

If you are unhappy with your results, you can request for a rescore. Remember, that the PTE Academic is an automated scored test, so the chances for any changes are very less. Only spoken responses and written responses are rescored.

In our experience, 9 out of 10 cases for rescore do not change the results. We don’t recommend going for a rescore unless you have a very strong reason to believe your results are unfair.

Did you get your desired score?

Woo hoo! Congratulations! Go ahead and have a mini-celebration.

If you are applying for Visa purposes you can upload your results at the time of your application. If you’re applying for a university you can send in the score with your application from the Pearson website.

You didn’t get your desired score?

Take some more time to prepare and practice. Try not to spend money on repeated reattempts. If you are short of your desired score by more than 5 points in the PTE then consider getting some coaching to help you.

You can get in touch with us and send us your scorecard via email (info@ptepreparation.com) or message us via Facebook in you need some guidance. (The more details you provide the better we will be able to assist you)

Good luck!
Steven

Please do contact Pearson to check the status of your scorecard. Ideally, you should have received it in 5 business days.

Could you please tell me, how PTE Academic do overall score? I used to believe that overall score is (kind of) average marking of all modules, and whenever i calculate my overall score of previous exam and my friends score, it used to be quite similar or near to average of 4 modules score. This time, I got different. I got Overall score: 88 (with L:75, R:90, S:89, and W:86), which is of no use for me and I am not satisfied with the marking. I think either my overall score is mistakenly calculated or my Listening score is high than 75. Can you please give me some idea about Overall score? Is Re-scoring effective for me?

Hi Ash, We reached out to Pearson on how the marks are given and the weightage for each question in the exam. They mentioned that they use complex algorithms to calculate the score and do not reveal this to anyone.
The score guide will not teach you how to calculate the final score. It serves to give an understanding of what test takers need to demonstrate in their responses.

The best strategy is to give every question equal importance and do your best in answering them.

I gave my PTE academic on 18th august 2018. It is 29th aug today and I still have not received my scores. The pearson team has no answers and just replies by saying please wait for 3-5 days. I have already waited for 10 days now. I have already missed out on a few good universities as they wont wait for my scores. The reason we give PTE is because they commit their scores will come in maximum 5 days. I have written numerous mails to the team but all in vain. Please help. There should be some reason for the delay. Have you lost my scores or my exam?? Even if I get a nice score now its of no use as all university deadlines have passed.

Hi Bhawandeep, We understand your situation and how much you need your results. But if Pearson has a doubt on the way you have given the exam then you should have a discussion with them to find a way out.
      Best Regards,
